From the office, from Friday, December 3rd.

This session was amazing as well.
This session was relaxation. I used some Myofascial Release in this session in the beginning as I talked to my client and listened to my client, it helped my client to relax. It always helps to work on the scalp, because during the day, when we get stressed, the scalp gets tight, the small muscles in the back of the head (Suboccipital Muscles) get tight and can cause headaches- if you have headaches, it is important to ask your doctor first and foremost for advice.
From there, I moved on to the massage. This massage was not all Myofascial Release as most of my sessions lately have been. This massage was Swedish and Deep Tissue massage as well. When my client came out of the office after the massage, my client was very relaxed, happy, ready for sleep.
Each session is different. Thank you, my AMAZING clients! Thank you so much!

From The Office- First Session Friday, December 3rd., AWESOME!!!!

My client said that their low back hurt. I started the massage at the low back, and my client and I noticed that their right hip was a bit higher than the left hip. I did Myofascial Release, a leg pull, which is literally as it says, a leg pull, however, it requires training to know what you are waiting for as you are doing the leg pull.
In this case, my client's right leg went over to the left side of the table and up, stretching the quadriceps (the muscles in the front of the leg) and the abdominals. I had to hold the left leg in place on the table so that the client stayed on the table, because the right leg needed to stretch so much.
The left leg was the same as the right, stretching all the way over to the right side of the table, stretching the quadriceps and the abdominals.
My client and I were laughing and talking, and I said to my client that I have been telling people for a long time that I practice massage for stress relief massage therapy. She laughed and said, "Heaven help people who are going to you for stress relief massage therapy, because that is not you. You do deep tissue work, you help people who have been in car accidents, you help people who really need help, you are not a relaxation massage therapist"! And, we were talking and laughing about how, as I was doing toe pulls, one of the client's toes was referring to the client's low back. I said, "Ok, well this makes perfect sense. So, when you are walking, and your foot hits the floor, even though you may feel it in your low back, that is not where it's starting. It's actually starting in your toes". My client laughed and said, "You may think that you know where your pain is coming from, and you don't, ask Aradia, Aradia knows where your pain is coming from"! We laughed and laughed, the session was awesome. Perfect results. No pain. Full range of motion.
For the very last part of the massage, I did a stretch for the client's neck. Perfect. Relaxing. Again, more range of motion, no pain.
Thank you so much for making me that beautiful homeade soap for Christmas! And the beautiful ribbon it was wrapped in! It is gorgeous! Thank you! I am honored and blessed to have such amazing clients. Thank you for helping me as well, to narrow down exactly what you see that I do, because it helps me to be able to talk about what I do more effectively. You are my sounding board. You are my voice. Thank you. God bless you!

Myofascial Release Session Today- AWESOME session!!!!

There are so many awesome benefits that I see with Myofascial Release- today, my client's right hip was a little higher than the left. In doing Myofascial Release, that was corrected, and we actually found that one of my client's toes was referring pain to the low back. This is interesting when we think of back pain. First of all, there are many different possibilities that may be causing low back pain, and it is always a good choice to ask your doctor what your doctor thinks first and foremost.

The Most Rewarding Aspects Of My Practice

I Love Massage Therapy!
Here are The Most Rewarding Aspects Of My Practice:

1. Results- There is nothing better than to know that the client has better range of motion, is more relaxed, is no longer in pain.

2. Conversation- I have found in my practice that there must be conversation with clients- this is integral. I find that talking with my clients and listening to them produces much better results than not talking- we talk and laugh, there is laughter with every session, this increases results!

3. Focus- This is integral as well. I focus on listening to my clients to hear how their day or week or month has been. This is what guides the session.

4. Referrals- It's an honor to have clients refer their friends and family to me. The most amazing thing was when my client's spouse thanked me for helping my client. My client and their spouse are friends
of another client, my client's spouse bought them a massage for their anniversary. My client had been in pain and did not understand what they could do- if anything- to control the pain

that was Interfering with their life. After a few sessions, and talking and listening to the client and then describing how the fascia works and describing how to stretch at home, my client was no longer daunted, and instead was confident. My client's spouse thanked me for
helping my client. This brought tears of gratitude to my eyes.

5. Information- I read Massage Magazine, Massage Today, John Barnes' blogs and much more. If you have a question, please ask and I will give you an answer or refer you to an appropriate medial professional to help you.

6. God- Thank You Father for everything that You have done for me and everything that You are doing for me now. I love You Father, amen.

Understanding Myofascial Release

I think that one thing that is important to understand about Myofascial Release is this- The Piezoelectric Phenomenon- This was incurred by Pierre and Jacques Curie, in the late 1800's. T

Piezoelectricity actually means "electricity resulting from pressure". It's from the Greek "Piezo" or "Piezein", which means to squeeze or press, and electric or electron, which stands for "Amber" which is an ancient source of electric charge.

Myofascial Release is the use of sustained pressure overt time. It relaxes contracted (tight) muscles, and increases circulation.
